Report a pet

Tell us. We’ll start looking.

One report, one place. It goes into the same inventory we check every open case against, both ways: lost pets against found ones, found pets against lost ones. It takes about three minutes, and a person reads every single report.

What the form asks

Four kinds of reports use the same door: your pet is missing, you found a pet, you saw one that looked lost, or you are sharing a post you saw somewhere else.

The pet

What they look like, where, and when

Colors, size, markings, collar, the street and cross street, and about what time. Photos matter more than anything: link a post or an album if you have one, and if you do not, we will ask you by text.

You

A way to reach you. It stays private.

Your name and best phone. Never published. A public case page only ever shows the contact you tell us is okay to show.

Your call

Owners choose what we may do

List the case on our site, file on PawBoost, Petco Love Lost, and Pet FBI for you, help with a Ring Search Party, contact finders for you: each one is its own yes. Nothing happens on a part you did not check.

Can’t face a form right now? Use the Ask page and just tell us in your own words. Same people, same inventory.

Also post it here

One post is never enough; pets get found where the right neighbor happens to be looking. These are the other doors. With your okay on the form, we file the starred ones for you; the rest take two minutes each, and your pet’s page here will link out to every one of them so a finder lands in one place.

What happens after you tell us

1

A person reads it and checks both ways

Your lost pet gets checked against every found report we hold, including ones posted before your pet went missing. Your found pet gets checked against every open case.

2

We text or email you back

With anything that might be a match, photos side by side, and a plain label for how sure we are. We never call something a sighting off a description alone.

3

The search keeps running

Morning and evening sweeps of the groups and registries while your case is open, camera help where it fits, and honest updates: what we searched and what we could not search, said out loud.

Free, always. This is neighbors with a system, not a service with a price list.
